Mwihaki Muraguri

The StorySmith, Paukwa House

Nairobi, Kenya

Inspired by beautiful sentences, enamoured by history, and disturbed by loose threads, mwĩhaki is an idea explorer, storyteller, lover of words and regular rabbit hole hostage. She is enamoured by well woven words and has been known to fall hard for an eloquently crafted sentence. Based in her hometown of Nairobi, she plays house with her husband and three offspring as she explores ways to bring her own African story to life.

Mwĩhaki honed her skill in project delivery working across Africa through a progressive career in public health, development and philanthropy. She has delivered change in myriad ways through institutions as diverse as AMREF Health in Africa, the KCB Foundation, IDRC and the Rockefeller Foundation.

“until the lion learns to tell his story the tale of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.”

Throughout her career, advancement of Africa has always been at the core.

Mwĩhaki supports changemakers and their institutions through documentation and storytelling advisory services. In 2017 she established Paukwa, a storyhouse that deploys non-fiction stories as weapons of mass instruction. Paukwa provides documentation services for clients; and curates and delivers positive content about Africa through social media channels as its social mission.
