Krista is an award-winning media leader with 20 years of experience in international media and social enterprise communications. She provides thought leadership with an emphasis on connecting values across industries and cultures.

Her areas of expertise include: Global public health, international social enterprise, human rights, climate migration and justice, sub-Saharan African governments and policies, global communications strategies, media leadership and more. She is HEFAT-trained with extensive experience managing teams and traveling in isolated and conflict regions. 

Currently Krista provides thought and logistical leadership for Morning Edition, NPR's flagship news show. Previous to this Krista was the managing editor at Global Press Institute.

Krista has extensive reporting experience. With a strong newspaper background, Krista has held fellowships with the International Reporting Project and the International Center for Journalists. Her reporting has taken her all over the world. She has also spent significant time reporting on American Indian reservations. Her work has earned honors for investigative reporting and narrative storytelling, among other awards.

She earned an M.A. in journalism from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School, and lives in Washington, DC with her husband and two daughters.
