Keosha Varela is a communications strategist, storyteller, and changemaker who uses digital platforms to inspire audiences to create a tangible and positive impact on the world. She brings over 15 years of communications experience spanning television, radio, digital media, nonprofits, and public engagement. In 2023, she founded Mission & Purpose Communications, a boutique firm advising cause-driven leaders and organizations.

Throughout her career, Keosha has developed dozens of communications strategies, editorial calendars, and plans for major nonprofit organizations in her role as a strategist. As a digital native, she is experienced in a wide range of digital media, such as social media marketing, using AI tools for content production, website redevelopment, and managing communications teams.

Before consulting, Keosha worked as a journalist and producer for TV, radio, and digital channels at NBC News and NPR. She has interviewed and written profiles on more than 100 high-profile newsmakers, celebrities, and public officials to date.

Keosha holds a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in journalism from American University in Washington, D.C.
