Jon Vidar

Founder and CEO, Uncharted Digital

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Jon Vidar specializes in helping brands tell their story.  With client work ranging from promoting Downtown Los Angeles to engaging a global workforce, Jon works with his clients to identify their communication needs, develop strategies for reaching their target audiences, and then assembling and managing the right team of experts to execute.

Previously, as a Senior Vice President at Ruder Finn, a global public relations and digital agency in New York, Jon bridged the gap between their traditional PR firm and their interactive studios — leading integrated campaigns that spanned both legacy media and the digital space.

Jon currently runs Uncharted Digital, a boutique creative agency focused on the intersection of digital platforms and social impact. Working with organizations like the Ford Foundation, Open Society, Tribeca and Sundance, Jon works with organizations to combat some of the world’s most important problems.

Jon’s background spans photojournalism with the AP and founding The Tiziano Project, a 501c3 that teaches new media storytelling in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, the West Bank and Sri Lanka. The Tiziano Project was recognized by Fast Company as one of the most innovative nonprofits in 2014.

Home-based on a sail boat for most of the last five years before settling down in a 200+ year old rum baron’s mansion in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jon’s work has earned recognitions from the Webby Awards, SXSW, PR News, the Online News Association and more. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Communication Management with emphasis in strategic corporate communication and information technology from the University of Southern California, where he also taught for many years.
