Chiara Bullen
Media Coordinator
Glasgow, Scotland
Chiara is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Stirling, Scotland. She’s looking into the moral and ethical responsibilities of publishers in the U.K., with a particular interest in the use of morality clauses in the publishing industry.
Previously, Chiara worked as Media Coordinator at Red Press, an independent publisher transforming world-changing ideas from the social justice sector into inspiring books. As she is passionate about creative industries and the social issues to be tackled throughout the world, working with Red Press was the perfect fit to combine her skills with the written word and passion for social justice.
Chiara is mad for the written word and delights in honing this passion into effective marketing and promotional strategies on social media. She has an MA in English Literature and Language from the University of Glasgow, and an MLitt in Publishing Studies from the University of Stirling. She maintains her own blog in her spare time, and works with various other organisations to manage their digital and social media presence, marketing and promotional efforts.
When she isn’t grappling with InDesign or whipping up an article, Chiara enjoys teaching the value of social media to individuals and organisations, aiming to make this process as accessible as possible so that everyone can experience the benefits of an online presence. She honed her social media and design skills as the online editor for Qmunicate, a magazine that has gained well-deserved notoriety for tackling social injustice issues, put together by students based in Glasgow.
