Raheel Waqar is the CEO and founder of White Rice Communications, the leading behavior change communications agency in Pakistan. His company is a pioneer in communication design for social change and thrives on using creativity, technology and grassroots strategy for breakthrough social innovations.

Over the past 15 years, Raheel has lead the design of many industry firsts and award-winning campaigns, communication and brand strategies, and specialized content for clients like the British High Commission, Care International, the European Commission, IFC (World Bank Group), Oxfam, Plan International, Save the Children, Sightsavers, Telenor, UKAID, UNICEF, UNFPA and USAID.

Raheel received the Business Leadership Excellence Award in 2015 by the Australian High Commission and was selected as Asia’s top 100 entrepreneurs under the age of 30 by the Foundation for Youth Social Entrepreneurship program in 2009.

He actively pursues opportunities aimed at behavior change and innovation in social development by working closely with social enterprises, non-profits and businesses to bring creative approaches to their communication.

Raheel is a graduate in Business from the University of Southern Queensland. He regularly contributes to entrepreneurship and social innovation by serving on panels of several mentoring programs, advisory councils, juries, professional bodies and NGO’s. Raheel is also a certified IFC trainer and has conducted trainings around design thinking and the human centered design approach, brand strategy, social campaigning, storytelling for change and entrepreneurship.

He is very actively engaged with the US State Department’s PUAN-US Alumni group. He has been an organizer, mentor and trainer for many past events. Some significant activities include organizing and training of youth at the Youth Tech Camp 2015. Raheel also helped organize and promote entrepreneurship at the Global Entrepreneurship Week in November 2014.
