Pierre is most inspired when telling authentic stories that encourage empathy. He’s a two-time Emmy Award-winning video journalist and filmmaker with over fifteen years of experience. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Pierre grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ where he went to a Quaker elementary school and a public high school. He went on to major in International Studies at DePaul University in Chicago.

Pierre’s career in journalism began at The Washington Post as a web developer for the multimedia section of the paper’s website. Self-taught in HTML, Javascript, and Perl, he coded complex projects and automated the building of photo galleries. Pierre’s passion for video journalism sparked when he saw a video story on the Post’s website in 1999.

After ten years at The Washington Post, Pierre started his own company. His clients include The New York Times, The World Bank, Al-Jazeera, PBS Frontline, the NewsHour, AARP, National Geographic and many others. Pierre teaches video journalism and filmmaking at workshops around the world. His work has garnered two Emmys and awards from Peabody, Scripps Howard Foundation, Casey Journalism Center and RTNDA Edward R. Murrow awards. He was named Editor of the Year in 2007 by the White House News Photographers Association. He speaks, English, French, Italian and a little Arabic.
