David Bank is an entrepreneur and journalist and is the founder and editor of ImpactAlpha, providing “investment news for a sustainable edge.” As CEO of its parent company, Impact IQ Inc., he is building an information ecosystem around impact investing that also includes the largest open database of impact ventures and investors at ImpactSpace.org.
The theme of “catalyzing capital,” human, social and financial, runs through David’s work. As a reporter at the Wall Street Journal, David covered software, the Internet and Microsoft and launched the national philanthropy beat. His book, Breaking Windows, was named one of the “best business books” of the year by the Harvard Business Review and Amazon.com. As vice president of Encore.org, he developed the campaign around encore careers, second acts for the greater good.
He was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University and has an M.S. in journalism from Columbia and a B.A. in politics from UC Santa Cruz.
